  • Blog Info

Ok... Don't ask why, but I have a different blog.  Actually, ask me why.  Why?  Ok... because anyone can comment on this blog, it's for Nate and I, although I will probably be the only one using it, and it's kind of nice to learn how to use a new blog system.  Here's where you can find us.  See you on the other side... of blog world that is!  :)

  • hello blog world.  I don't have much time, as always, but I just wanted to blog for a second.  Life is weird.  Random.  I used to listen to tons of music everyday.  I can go for days without listening to anything more than the radio, which is fine cause I still get music that way, but seriously... I guess I didn't realize how much I miss music until I have a night like tonight.  Nate and I are members of a cd club and we earned 6 free cds and then had limited $.99 for all cds once you buy one at regular price.  So we are gonna catch up on the music scene. We ordered 23 cds tonight.  they range from new Christian artists like Addison Road who I am excited to have to music like Nelly Furtado and Timbaland so we can go clubbin in our living room...  :)  I just hope we have time to listen to it all.

Here's another example of random... I got a call from a principal tonight, SUNDAY, and he asked what job I was interested in, said he would look for my resume and call me back.  I was totally excited and ready to set up a time for an interveiw and now it's 11:40 pm Sunday night and I haven't had a phone call back and it's kind of dissappointing.  I honestly think that the second they hear or read that i work at The Science Zone, they black list me.  I have had almost no positive response from principals once they learn I work for the museum... I don't get it.  And isn't that illegal?  So anyway... it was really weird getting a call on a Sunday evening of a holiday weekend from a principal, but it's even more weird that he didn't call back to say he needed another copy of my resume or that he found the resume I already gave to him after he said he would call back.  I'm totally frustrated with lack of a real teaching job... it would be such a blessing financially and in so many other ways, and I really do have a desire to teach in my own classroom.  I am trusting God will provide.  I am also trying to decide if God is telling me to leave my job since it hasn't been doing much good, even though it's been such a learning experience... I don't know what to do about it anymore.  I'm done thinking about it tonight.

Hope you had a great 4th!!  We have tomorrow off too!  Yay!!  I hope to post some good pics of our real quick trip to Denver and Rocky Mountain National Park...we got realy close to some elk... REALLY close and we won a trip to Orlando... it will be the first time we're on an airplane together and the first time on the ocean together... I'm excited.  We just have to pick the dates and go.  More details to come...

  • Ok... it's been a long time and I feel like I should go back to the beginning of the year and update a bunch of pictures and stuff, but yeah... we'll do May and see how that goes.

DSC01775Nate and I on a little hike in early May... his facial hair is crazy, but fun.

DSC01791 Here's my 2 favorite boys playing fetch.  By the way... this was taken on May 3rdish.  We had like a foot of new snow on the mountain and had to go play in it.

On May 10th my friends Danielle and Rob got married.  This is me with Danielle and Jamie... we are the "Malodorous Trio"  aka Smelly, Stinky and Stenchy... we got the nicknames, before we were all really good friends, from friends and family and then when we were hanging out one night we discovered our nicknames and decided to become the Malodorous Trio... good times.  We really don't smell bad though... just in case you were wondering.

DSC01827 My favorite nephew Cody... he looks so old in this photo... it was taken at our family memorial day bbq at our house on Friday.  He'll be two on July 28, so still really young, but so cool!

DSC01835 And this is Allissa Grace, Cody's little sister.  Look how she holds her thumbs!  So cute!  She'll be 2 months old on May 31.  She and my dad are the only blue eyed family members...

DSC01848 We had Erika's wedding shower on Saturday morning... here's her with Alissa and our mom.  The wedding is in like 10 days... crazy!

That's all for now.  It took me forever to get a post up... we'll see how long it takes til the next one.

    Changes

Today I had a thought.  I think that God knows that people need changes in their life so he made seasons.  Someone at work today said, "I love the spring time.  It's the only season that makes me happy."  So if there were no spring, would my coworker never be happy?  It was just an interesting thing I hear and I thought I would share it.  And I am glad that God made seasons and allows things around us to change, because I am realizing, now, that I work well over 40 hours and week and come home to work more, that if something around me didn't change every once in a while, I would go crazy.  I used to rearrange furniture like every 6 weeks or just change something.  I'm a bit busy for that these days and I am happy the weather is changing.  Even today it was nice enough to drive with the window down, but now it's snowing.  Gotta love Wyoming.  (I rhymed).

Have you ever dug a hole for a tree?  Try 22 holes!  That's how many trees we planted in our yard beginning on Sunday.  We got all the trees on Saturday, after I went to the school district job fair... another story, another time... and then we began digging holes on Sunday.  We finished planting the last trees last night around 9 and we finished moving some dirt around tonight.  Now we are going to plant some trees in the front yard before the beginning of may.  May and June are going to be crazy.  We get a new exhibit at work, I will probably try to get some interviews for the school district, my sister gets married June 7 and I will be in Laramie again for Astro Camp most of June.  It's gonna be crazy!!  Ok... this entry is getting way too long.  I am going to bed now.  Seriously... diggin holes is not easy... I'm still very sore from it!

  • Basically I don't want to do anything truly productive right now so I'm not.  Life has been much better the last few days.  I am preparing, slowly but surely, to attend the job fair for our school district.  I have no expectations.  i think it would be great to get a job as a teacher... have my own classroom, work with some awesome kids, and learn from teachers who are pros at teaching, but if that's not where I am supossed to be, then it won't happen yet.  I have thought about some other opportunities, but I am really not drawn anywhere else.  The Science Zone or a classroom is all I feel draw to.  But I realize if God wants me in other places besides the places I feel drawn to, it will happen.  I am also thinking about getting PartyLite going.  I really do like doing that job.  It's pretty interesting.  Doesn't use a ton of brain power.  Just excellent social and communication skills.  If i ever get really motivated, I'll try to get that business going.  It would be pretty cool to work from home and not have to worry about working for other people... who knows.

Well... I have a new baby niece!  She was born on Monday, March, 31, weighed 8 lbs, 9 oz, and was 21 1/2 inches long... maybe today she's a bit longer, and probably weighs a little less, cause i think babies lose some weight at first?? but she is so cute!  She hardly moved the other day when I saw her.  She was just sleepin and sleepin and looked so peaceful.  See... if I didn't have a job that kept me so busy I could go visit her everyday and play with Cody too and life would be much more fun!  Anyway... Welcome to our family Alissa Grace!  You're a beauty and you'll be just a cute as your big brother!  (sorry... I don't have pics uploaded yet!!)

I'm going to go eat cake and watch a movie with my husband.  Man... life is gonna be so different when we have kids.  Now's the time to enjoy being lazy together late on Saturday nights.
